Terms of service

Effective July 11, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and The San Francisco Design Company (the makers of Iconic) when you use Iconic: the website at withiconic.ai, the Iconic connector inside ChatGPT or Claude, and the sites you build and publish with it. We've written them to be readable; using Iconic means you agree to them.

What Iconic is

Iconic turns an AI chat you already use into an app builder: you describe what you want in ChatGPT or Claude, and Iconic builds and hosts a real site with a real address and a database behind it. Using Iconic therefore also requires an account with ChatGPT or Claude, and your use of those products is governed by their own terms, not ours. We aren't responsible for them.

Your account

  • You sign in with Google and need to be at least 13 years old.
  • Keep your account yours: you're responsible for what happens through it.
  • Give us accurate information and keep it current.

Your content and your sites

  • You own what you build. Your prompts, your site's content, and the data your site collects belong to you.
  • You give us the permission we need to operate the service: to store, build, host, and serve your sites to the people who visit them. That's the whole purpose of the license. We don't use your content for anything else, and we don't train AI models on it.
  • You're the publisher of your site. You're responsible for what it says, what it sells, and how it treats its visitors, including the data it collects from them (like form submissions) and any legal notices your site itself needs.
  • Sites on the free plan carry a small "Made with Iconic" badge.

Acceptable use

Don't use Iconic to build or do anything that:

  • is illegal, or infringes someone else's rights or intellectual property;
  • distributes malware, phishing pages, scams, or deceptive content;
  • sends spam or collects personal data deceptively;
  • abuses the infrastructure, for example using build environments for crypto-mining, proxying, or anything other than building your project;
  • tries to break, probe, or overload the service or other people's projects.

We can take down content or suspend accounts that break these rules. If it's practical and safe to warn you first, we will.

Plans and payment

  • Iconic has a free plan and paid plans; payments are processed by Stripe.
  • Iconic is in early access. Right now billing runs in test mode, so no real charges are made. Before we start charging real money, we'll make pricing clear at the point of purchase.
  • Prices and plan limits may change; we'll announce changes before they apply to you.

Our stuff

Iconic itself, including the product, its name, its code, its design, and its dog, belongs to The San Francisco Design Company. These terms don't transfer any of that to you, and the license you give us over your content doesn't transfer any of your ownership to us.

Leaving, and being asked to leave

  • You can stop using Iconic and ask us to delete your account at any time. Just email us. Deleting your account takes your sites offline and deletes your personal data as described in our privacy policy.
  • We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, and we can discontinue the service. If we ever do, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to get your content out.

The honest disclaimers

  • Iconic is an early-access product, provided "as is". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anything built with it is fit for a particular purpose.
  • AI builds your site, and AI makes mistakes. Review what it produces before you rely on it, especially anything involving money, health, or law.
  • To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, in test mode, may be nothing). We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the content of sites our users publish.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update this page and its effective date, and tell you by email or in the product before the change applies. Continuing to use Iconic after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. If a dispute can't be worked out by email first (please try; we do), it belongs in the courts of San Francisco, California.
